There is undeniably a "feeling" about Herculaneum, quite different from Pompeii, where you get the impression that its ancient population of 5,000 packed up and left only moments ago. Herculaneum was smaller than Pompeii but is better preserved simply because, while hot ashes consumed the wood of Pompeii's buildings, Herculaneum was covered by hot mud which sealed and protected entire city blocks. This means that marble floors, mosaics, paintings and carbonized woods can still be admired today. Your guide will take you on a guided walk that includes the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele and the bustling main street of Corso Umberto , lined with former mansions of enchanting architecture and balconies that brim with flowers. Stop briefly in the inner courtyard of the medieval Corvaja Palace and enjoy the panoramic views of the bay and snow-capped Mount Etna in the distance as you gaze from the balcony of Piazza IX Aprile. Follow your guide up the narrow street that leads to the Greco-Roman Theatre . Taormina's most famous antique dates back to the 2nd and 3rd centuries B.C. and still hosts performances today. For those with an appreciation of "The Godfather" series, many of the places visited in this tour will seem familiar. You will get a unique opportunity to discover the secrets behind producing organic olive oil as the Moric family are the only business in the area currently producing organic olive oil. Old Kotor was developed within a small triangular area enclosed by town walls extending to the Fort of St. John. Your experienced guide will direct your attention to structures that were built by the Venetians from the 15th to the mid-18th centuries. They completely enclose the Old Town and form a unique fortification capable of resisting lengthy attacks and sieges. You then continue to the 12th century Cathedral of St. Triphon, which features a Romanesque basilica whose nave is separated from the aisles by alternating square pillars and antique columns. Your excursion begins with a 30-minute drive to the small Baroque village of Perast for a walking tour in this pedestrian only village. See the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and other monuments including the Parish Church, the 12th century Sveti Djordje Church, and the Sveti Nikola Church, built between the 15th and 17th centuries. In a local restaurant, you'll taste some typical sweets, made from an original recipe used during the Baroque period. Kotor, Highlights of Montenegro

From the port of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site , a motor coach will take you on a panoramic tour. You will ascend steep slopes up the serpentine road with 25 curves to Lovcen Mountain, through an area of beautiful contrasts. The soaring Montenegrin mountains tower on one side, while opposite them is the sublime beauty of one of the world's most attractive bays. The road will take you to the picturesque village of Njegusi where you will enjoy local snacks that consist of smoked ham, cheese, homemade bread, and wine. Rejoin the coach and proceed to the town of Cetinje, to visit the Museum of King Nikola. Then follow the scenic route through the popular summer resort of the Budva Riviera, as you head back to Kotor. Kotor's Old Quarter was developed within a small triangular area enclosed by town walls. Your experienced guide will direct your attention to the structures that were built by the Venetians from the 15th to mid-18th centuries. They completely enclose the Old Town and form a unique fortification capable of resisting lengthy attacks and sieges. You will then continue to see the exterior of the 12th century Cathedral of St. Triphon, which features a Romanesque basilica whose nave is separated from the aisles by alternating square pillars and antique columns. Please note: There are 40 steps to enter the Museum of King Nikola. Wear comfortable walking shoes as there will be some walking on cobblestones. Split, Concierge Collection: Rafting the Cetina River

You will board your motor coach for the 90-minute drive to Pnsici Village and the Cetina River. For thousands of years the Cetina River has been crafting a beautiful canyon, creating miraculous forms in the stone of its riverbed. This crystal-clear river with a temperature pleasant enough for swimming, offers a true untouched nature experience. The 590-foot cliffs, cascades, lakes, underground tunnels and the 131-foot-high Gubavica Waterfall are on the agenda today. Split, Sea Safari of Trogir & Ciovo Island by Rib Boat

Take a thrilling boat ride to visit the past and see beauty of the sea during this half-day outing. Departing the pier, begin your tour with a fast inflatable boat ride along the Split Riviera towards the Town of Trogir, situated on a small island squeezed in between the mainland and the larger island of Ciovo. The tiny island is connected to the mainland by a bridge. Except for the green parks, the entire island is occupied by spectacular constructions of stone-houses, palaces, churches, monasteries, towers, walls etc. The streets are narrow and they truly give a feel of how life may have been in the past. During your visit, you will see the main attraction in Trogir - the Cathedral of St. Lawrence. This 13th century building is probably the finest example of sacral architecture in Croatia. The unusual construction with three naves and three semi-circular apses dominates the whole town. Other fine buildings that will be viewed are the Town Loggia, the Town Hall and the Cipiko Palace. Depart Trogir on your inflatable boat toward Duga Uvala Beach at Ciovo Island. At the completion of an approximate 30-minute cruise, you will find yourself at the beautifully secluded bay with a pebble beach and crystal waters. Split, Krka National Park Highlights

Leaving the town of Split, you will take a 75-minute drive by coach to the famous Krka River Waterfalls. Located in lovely Krka National Park, the falls cascade over 17 natural barriers. Krka is one of the seven National Parks in Croatia and was formed to protect the Krka River. The whole area is rich with endemic species - vegetation as well as birds and fish. This tour will take you to the most attractive part of the park - the Skradinski Buk Waterfalls. The highest waterfall is 151 feet high which makes it the highest gypsum barrier in Europe. Above the falls there is a large plateau that offers spectacular views of the area. Your guided visit to the park will include a small ethnological exhibit and the old mill which is still in use. There is a path around the falls and you will have two hours of free time to explore before your 75-minute drive back to Split. Please note: The national park terrain is narrow and rough at times and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. Rovinj, Hum; The Smallest Town in the World

Depart the pier for a scenic drive to Roc Village, a cultural monument with well-preserved medieval town walls, a Roman lapidarium, a Venetian bombarda cannon, and a functional watchtower. From Rovinj you will travel by coach on a 60-minute drive to Motovun, a hilltop town that has preserved its medieval ambiance in its narrow streets within the town walls, preserved in their entire length. Walk along Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance buildings to the main square dominated by the 13th century belfry of St. Stephen's Church.
